Description

Select a typographic classification then identify 3 fonts within that classification to learn more about the history of the font and the designer.

Develop a variety of thumbnail sketches to explore visual organization, hierarchy, formal elements, and content.

Begin iterating digitally. The goal of this phase is not to make each iteration better than the last one. The goal is to make as many variations and iterations as you can to compare the select the best results for final refinement.

Project Goals
  • Research and communicate information about a particular typographic classification
  • Research and communicate historical and culturally relevant information about three different fonts within the selected classification
  • Define clear visual hierarchy
  • Design three posters using various design principles we’ve covered in class to make the posters work together as a set yet still have a distinct individual visual interest
